Ethel Little Hutchens

February 3, 1927 - January 28, 2018 Ethel Lois Little Hutchens, 90, of Troutman, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. Ethel was born on February 3, 1927 in Ashe County, NC to the late Claude F. Little and Dejena Goodman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leroy Allen Hutchens; sister, Wilma L. Ford; and brother, Harold J. Little. Ethel was a faithful and devoted Christian lady. She was an active member of Troutman Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and volunteered in many ministries. She worked as a nurse at Iredell Memorial for over 27 years. She was an avid reader and loved to travel. She also loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Frank "Steve" Hutchens (Beverly) of Troutman and Dennis Allen Hutchens (Barbara) of Statesville; sisters, Alma Sharpe of Clemmons, Carol Lambert (Jason) of Statesville, Christene Menster (Franklin) of Troutman, and Barbara Wiggins (Leonard) of Statesville; brother, Billy Little Sr. (Sybil) of Troutman; four grandchildren, Laurie Klum (A.J) of Troutman, Craig Hutchens (Misty) of Troutman, Patrick Hutchens (Erin) of Troutman, and Travis Hutchens (Jessie) of Troutman; and ten great-grandchildren, Jenna, Drew, Noah, Grace, Emma Ty, Paisley, Parks, Steel and Jace, all of whom will miss her dearly. A celebration of life service will be held at Troutman Baptist Church on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. with the Rev. Hugh Cooper and Rev. J.B. Parker officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall after the service.
