Ellen Jane Knox Myers

Ellen Jane Knox Myers, 82, of Statesville, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s residence on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

Ellen was born on June 8, 1943, in Statesville, to the late Robert Don Knox and Ruby Crouch Knox. She was a graduate of Cool Springs High School, and she was a member of Fifth Creek Presbyterian Church. She played basketball in high school. She enjoyed taking long walks, cooking, gardening, flowers, and playing cards with her family and friends. She also loved taking trips to the beach with her friends and she dearly loved her church family. She spent the last 2 years in the home of Donna and Richard.

In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Berly W, Myers.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Donna Stewart (Richard Hartsog) and Rhonda Henderson; brothers Ray Knox (Judy), David Knox (Marie) and Wayne Knox (Pat); sister, Becky Campbell (Boyd); grandson, Bradley Henderson; granddaughter, Liz Vargas (Roger); great-granddaughter, Blakely Henderson; great-grandsons, Duke and Theo Vargas; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who were all very special to her; and special niece, Cindy Campbell, who helped take care of her the last few weeks.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Friday, June 20 at Fifth Creek Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 9:00 am until 10:30 am. Serving as pallbearers are Jerry Knox, George Campbell, Danny Henderson, Robert Steele, Matthew Campbell and Tim Knox. Honorary pallbearers are Roy Campbell, Frankie Steele, Billy Steele and Joe Mayes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fifth Creek Presbyterian Church, 1547 Mocksville Hwy., Statesville, NC 28625, or Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
