Elizabeth Joan (Nixon) Fuhr

Mrs. Elizabeth Joan Nixon Fuhr, 76, of Statesville, passed away Monday, May 20, 2019 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Fuhr was born July 23, 1942 in Mooresville, NC and was the daughter of the late Buford Moore Nixon and Gracie Mae Compton Nixon. She was a graduate of Troutman High School and on April 23, 1992, she was married to Patrick Anthony Fuhr. She was in sales, where she sold musical instruments and also gave music lessons.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, David James Deaton (Diane) of Myrtle Beach, SC, one daughter, Shelia Dianne Deaton of Troutman, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one sister, Lynda Nixon Atkinson of Statesville, four nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews and her previous husband, Clyde Deaton of Troutman. She was preceded in death by one grandson.

A private family service will be conducted on a later date.
