Edna Mae Kennedy

Edna Mae Kennedy, 81, formerly of Troutman, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Rosewood Rest Home in Statesville. Mrs. Kennedy was born in Iredell County to the late L. Gilmore and Anne Howard Jones. She was a caring home health nurse who helped many people throughout her career. She is survived by two sons, Rodney and David Kennedy, both of Troutman; and one grandchild, Emilie Akin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Kennedy. Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Iredell Memorial Gardens with the Revs. Roy Pierce and Jeff Cook officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Welcome Baptist Church, 2068 Shelton Ave., Statesville, NC 28677. The family would like to thank the staff of Rosewood Rest Home for all the kindness and loving care they gave to their mother.
