Berta “Dottie” Roseman Davidson LaClair, 87, of Statesville, passed away peacefully Monday, January 6, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House.
Dottie was born in Iredell County on November 30, 1937, to the late Roy Melmouth Davidson and Berta Candace Roseman Davidson. She attended Celeste Henkel High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing cards, baking and cooking, and working in the yard. She also enjoyed helping others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Vernon LaClair; sisters, Rosemond “Rosie” Davidson, Carolyn Davidson, and Mildred Davidson Campbell; brothers, Joseph “Aus” Davidson, Roy “Pete” Davidson, Max Davidson, and James “Jim” Davidson.
Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Duane LaClair (Jean), Daniel LaClair (Shondell), and Andrew LaClair (Tracy), four grandchildren, Karissa LaClair, Talon LaClair, Aslan LaClair, and Joshua LaClair; three great grandchildren, Madeline Ranasinghe, Benjamin Ranasinghe, and Evelyn Ranasinghe; sister, Wanda Davidson Isenhour; brothers, Henry Paul “Bob” Davidson, and Frank Davidson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 10, at 11:00 am at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family would like to give special thanks to Lori Lyles and the staff of the Gordon Hospice House.
