Dot Civita

Aug. 28, 1932 - May 28, 2016 Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Mae Civita, 83, of Statesville, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016. She was born on August 28, 1932 in Chester, Pa. to the late Isaac and Helen Conard. Dot loved people, crafts, animals, music and family. She loved to serve others and her kindness was evidenced by the things she always did. She lovingly worked with seniors at a senior center before retiring and she served on many auxiliaries with the last being Reliance Fire Co. She made and used cards to brighten other people’s days whenever she could and she was a member of the Shropshire Circle at her family church for many years. Dot’s laughter, smile and sense of humor will always be remembered by everyone who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Connie (Eddie) Grier of Gulf Breeze, Fl. and Kim (Marvin) Woods of Statesville; sons, John Bloom of Ennice, NC and Dean (Anita) Bloom of Aston, Pa.; sisters, Helen (Andy) Ruszkay of West Chester, Pa. and Barbara (Jim) Armes of West Grove, Pa.; eleven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Civita. A memorial service honoring the life of Dot Civita will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Fallstown Baptist Church with Pastor David Troutman officiating.
