Dorothy Mae (Hager) Sigmon

Dorothy Mae Hager Sigmon, 75, of Statesville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 4, 2022 at her home.

Dorothy was born on December 26, 1946, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Charles Coyte Hager, Sr. and Vina Hazel Greer Hager. She attended Cool Spring High School and earned her GED and went on to complete CNA and Phlebotomy certification. She was employed by Jantzen and worked in sweater production and later as a cosmetologist and phlebotomist. On April 10, 1966 Dorothy married her husband Lanny Ross Sigmon.

In addition to her husband, Dorothy is survived by her three children, Wende Sigmon Wilkinson (Mark), Kathryn Sigmon Messer and Lanny Ross Sigmon, Jr., three grandchildren, Kelly Scroger, Amanda Wilkinson and Sarah Wilkinson; two great grandchildren, Kaylee Ringler and Kadence Ringler and three brothers, Charles Hager, Jr., Jerry Hager and Roger Hager.

Funeral service will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Roger Holland officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 1:00-2:00pm at the church.
