Mrs. Dorothy Anne Scott, 64, passed away on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at Iredell Memorial Hospital, after losing her battle with colorectal cancer. She was born March 28, 1945, in Raleigh County, W.Va., to the late Aurthur and Katherine Hall. She retired from Freightliner, LLC as a material handler. She loved her animals, gardening, reading, and cooking for family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors and playing online games but, above all, she loved her family. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Scott is survived by her husband, Buddy G. Scott; two sons, Mark Scott of Mooresville, N.C., and Ricky Scott of Mocksville, N.C.; four daughters, Vanessa Williams of Albany, N.Y., Julia Bullock of Mooresville, Jessi Turner of Ladson, S.C., and Sheila Jackson of Waxhaw, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Marvin Hall of Whitesville, W.Va.; and five sisters, Alma Smith of Dunlop, Tenn., Dovie Peters of Beckley, W.Va., Opal Gregory of Deerfield, Ohio, Nora Gauer of Roots Town, Ohio, and Mary Summers of New Port Richey, Fla. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Stoiber. A visitation for Mrs. Scott will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22, at Troutman Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 23, at Iredell Memorial Park with the Rev. Trent Patterson officiating.
