Doris Bradshaw Ostwalt

Doris Bradshaw Ostwalt, age 99 years and 8 months, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 8, 2026, in Statesville, NC. Doris was born on December 4, 1926, to Floyd Larkin Bradshaw and Leona Munday Bradshaw.

Doris was in the first 12th-grade graduating class of Statesville Senior High School and was a long-time member of Western Avenue Baptist Church in Statesville. Doris was known as a master gardener and hard worker who worked as a teacher’s aide at Pressley Elementary School and who retired from her job in bookkeeping at Wal-Mart at the age of 80. Doris loved animals and, in addition to her cat and dog pets, was known to feed any animal that made its way into her yard, including the occasional opossum. In her moments of relaxation, Doris enjoyed a good cup of coffee while listening to music.

Doris is survived by her 4 children, Donna Ostwalt Goodin, Conrad “Ozzie” Eugene Ostwalt, Jr., Mark Bradshaw Ostwalt, and Angela Ostwalt Hines as well as 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Conrad Eugene Ostwalt, her parents Floyd Larkin and Leona Munday Bradshaw, and her brother, Glenn Floyd Bradshaw.

An informal memorial service will be held in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel, Troutman, NC, on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) or to the Iredell County Animal Shelter.
