Doris Lucille (Davis) Mcneely

Doris Lucille Davis McNeely, 93, of Statesville, passed away, Monday, April 26, 2021 at her home.

Mrs. McNeely was born December 17, 1927 in Rowan County and was the daughter of the late Lacy King Davis and Nora Boan Davis. She was a graduate of Statesville Senior High School and Mitchell College. On September 20, 1947, she married the late John Linden McNeely, Sr., who passed away in 1998. She was a member of New Sterling ARP Church and retired from JC Penny after 34 years.

She is survived by two sons, John L. McNeely, Jr. of Blowing Rock, NC and Gary D. McNeely of Boone, NC.

In addition to her husband and parents, Doris was preceded in death by one sister, Aletha D. Fernandez and an aunt, Bertie Kracal.

A private family graveside service will be held Thursday, April 29, 2021 in the New Sterling ARP Church Cemetery.
