Doris Jean Grubbs Jordan

July 12, 1929 - May 11, 2010

Doris Jean Grubbs Jordan, 80, formerly of Troutman, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Genesis in Mooresville. She was born in Rushville, IN on July 12, 1929 to the late Charles B. and Fern Orme Grubbs. Doris enjoyed crafts of all kinds and was an exceptional seamstress. She cared for her family immensely and volunteered with many organizations including The American Red Cross, Hospice of Iredell County, The Theatre Communities of Hickory and Winston Salem, and many others. She is survived by one son, Bruce Alan Jordan of Hickory; one daughter, Barbra Ann Snowball of Denver; three grandchildren, Tami Backlinie Burris (Jason) of Charlotte, Lonnie David "Bo" Jordan (Michelle) of Granite Falls, and Joshua Tyler Jordan of Hickory; and one great grandchild, Luke Alexander Jordan of Granite Falls. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bryce Eugene Jordan and her sister, Janet Lee Grubbs Bird. A memorial service celebrating the life of Doris Jordan will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Ben Davis Creek Christian Church in Shelbyville, IN. Entombment will follow the service at East Hill Shrine Mausoleum. The family will receive friends after the services.
