Doris Whitmire Hoover

Oct. 5, 1923 - Aug. 30, 2013 Mrs. Doris Whitmire Hoover, 89, of Troutman, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2013. She was born in Clinton, SC to the late Etta Satterwhite and Thomas Bart Whitmire. She graduated from Ford High School in Laurens, SC and worked at Nations Bank for many years before retiring. Doris was a loving wife and mother who particularly enjoyed cooking and working in her summer garden. She is survived by her husband, Blake K. Hoover, of Troutman; daughter, Teresa Hoover Meinert and husband, Thomas, of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Tommy Meinert and wife, Christine, of Boxford, MA, Shaina Meinert of Charlotte, and Dustin Meinert of Miami, FL; and one great granddaughter, Madison Meinert of Boxford, MA. The family will receive friends from 1 - 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Troutman. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 with the Rev. Harvey Mozolak officiating. Interment will be in Iredell Memorial Park. Pallbearers for the service will be Joe Troutman, Gerald Rimmer, Pat Murdock, Scott Copeland, Patrick Hoover, and Ronald Clodfelter. Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, P.O.
