Doris Alley Clontz, 88, of Troutman, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016.
She was born on January 19, 1928 in Troutman to the late Sudie Ostwalt Alley and Floyd James Alley.
Mrs. Clontz was a graduate of Troutman High School. She was employed by Superior Paving Company of Statesville where she retired as a Secretary. She loved to tend to her garden, planting vegetables and flowers. She always adored roses in particular.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, G Howard Clontz, and one son, Howard Wayne Clontz.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Anne (Henry) Brantley of Mooresville ; son, Joe Keith Clontz of Troutman; sister, Alice (Pete) Raymer of Troutman; brother, Jim (Corinne) Alley of Troutman; four grandsons, Joshua (Angela) Brantley, Jamie (Carmen) Brantley, Dakota Brantley, Wesley Clontz; four granddaughters, Brandi (Adam) Lippard, Callie Jo Clontz, Tina (Anthony) Woods, Jennifer (Shannon) Moore, eleven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26 at Rocky Mount United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Dieter Punt officiating. The family received friends on Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Troutman Funeral Home. Those who wish to view Mrs. Clontz are welcome to come by Troutman Funeral Home early Monday morning as well.
