Donald Lane Stewart, Sr.

Donald Lane Stewart Sr., 77 of Statesville passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2023, at Forsyth Hospital in Winston-Salem.

Mr. Stewart was born September 30, 1946, in Iredell County. He was the son of the late Earl Lee Stewart and Hazel Elaine Stewart. He attended Statesville Senior High School, he was a member of New Bethany Baptist Church, and made his career as a truck driver with MDI. In May of 2002, Don married his beloved wife, Suzanne Wilson Stewart. He loved riding motorcycles, walking his dog, spending time with his grandkids, and trips to the mountains.

Along with his parents, Don was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Kay Stewart, his brother Earl Lee Stewart Jr., and his sister, Darleene Shook.

Those left to cherish Don’s memory include his wife Suzanne, his sons, Nick (Brandy) Stewart and Donnie (Melissa) Stewart, his stepson, Steve (Jessica) Parker, his grandchildren, Colton, Jack, and Kayla Stewart, Kaylee, Laicey, Jalin, and Camden Parker, his brother, Gary (Linda) Stewart, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service celebrating Mr. Stewarts life will be conducted at 1:00pm, Saturday, October 7, 2023, at New Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Reverend Bill Mason will officiate.
