Diane Lynn (Kauppi) Pagliaro

Diane Lynn Pagliaro, 74, of Troutman, NC fell into her deep sleep in peace at her home in the company of her family on the early morning of April 3, 2023, after her battle with breast cancer.

She was born in California and raised in Lake Linden, Michigan, a middle child to the family of Arne and Elma “Min/Willie” (Karpenen) Kauppi. After graduating Lake Linden High School, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona. A few years later, she met her man Louis Pagliaro from Sault Ste Marie, Ontario in the summer of 1971 at a convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses. It was true love, and after a short courtship, they married in October 1971 in Niagara Falls, Ontario and started their family. In 1993, the family moved to the Charlotte NC area, finally settling at their home in Troutman. They were a fine example in marriage, staying strong in love for 49 years before his passing.

Diane was exceptionally creative. She had an appreciation for art, jewelry and furniture, especially Asian-influenced pieces. Known for always finding projects around the house to make her family comfortable, she often painted or designed house features that were pleasing. She started Lady Di’s Upholstery, using her vision to turn older, beat-up furniture into beautiful pieces with function. This also earned her the affectionate nickname “Diazy”(pr Di-Zee) from her sons and their friends. Later on, she learned medical transcription/coding, and concluded her working career. She loved entertaining, whether it be numerous parties for the children in her congregation, or dinners with friends. And she would always be willing to rollout a few trays of warm pasties with “catsup”.

With all of this, she was at her best as a longtime, dedicated servant and friend of her Sovereign Lord Jehovah. She worked diligently as a loving mother doing all she could for her boys, supporting their father as they worked together teaching them to become Jehovah’s friend, making sure they were dressed and ready for meetings and the ministry. She played the My Book of Bible Stories for bed and encouraged them to sing praises to Jehovah. She was able to live out her final years in the full-time ministry, often pouring out her heart in letters or discussions with her neighbors to help them learn bible truths and share the hope of a wonderful future. This good news she preached with her family and friends about God’s now established Kingdom includes the hope and confidence for a paradise earth, free from sickness and death, and a resurrection of our dead loved ones.

She is survived by her sons and her beautiful grandchildren: Her grandchildren Anabella and Jacob (from her son Gregory, deceased); her son Christopher and her granddaughter Madison; her son Bradley and his wife Jennifer, and her grandchildren Elise and Logan; and her son Ben J. Min and his wife Carrie. She is also survived by the family of her sister Sandra (deceased), and her sister Sue Ellen and her family.
