Delores Hailey Moore Mills

Delores Hailey Moore Mills, 94 of Troutman, passed away Wednesday May 20th, 2026, at Gordon's Hospice House after living years of independent living.

A Celebration of Life will be held at New Perth ARP in Troutman, 204 West Avenue West, Troutman, NC on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm followed by a 2:00 pm service.

Delores was born on March 19th,1932 in Charlotte, NC to the late James Fletcher Hailey and Mary Viola Partee Hailey. She graduated from Derita High School in Charlotte, NC. She completed training to become a dental hygienist at UNC-Chapel Hill. Delores worked as a dental hygienist, administrative assistant and office manager for ten years with Dr. Henry Patterson. Upon leaving the dental office, it took four people to replace her. Delores retired from McDevitt and Street Construction Company.

Always up for an adventure, she enjoyed line dancing, bowling, fishing, trips with her sisters, camping and hosting parties. She was an active member of New Perth ARP Church. She loved heading up the "Keenagers" at New Perth, a senior citizens community group that consisted of trips and social activities. She additionally spent her time volunteering with "Meals on Wheels" delivering meals to senior citizens.

Delores and her sister Charlotte spent multiple days a week at Rocky Mount Baptist Church playing cards and eating meals with senior citizens.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Viola; her siblings Howard Hailey, Harold Hailey, Louise Rea, Sandra Nolan and Jack Hailey; her grandchildren, Shaun Donovan Moore, Aaron Moore and Mary Noel Mauney.

She is survived by her son Randy Moore (Patti) and her daughter Renee Moore Mauney (Art); her grandchildren Hailey Kemper (Brad), Harrison Hopkins (Erika), Cameron Moore (Alex), Madison Mauney and Devon Moore; her great grandchildren Noah Kamper, Hayden Kemper, Diana Kemper, Bentley Rose, and Oliver Coltrane.
