Della Ann Williams White

Della Ann Williams White, 90, of Union Grove, passed away Friday, July 24, 2026, at Gordon Hospice House.

Born in Iredell County on August 23, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Clyde L. Williams and Minnie Florence Reid Williams.

In addition to her parents, Ann was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 ½ years, James O. White; one grandson, Travis Mahler; her brother, Tom “T.C.” Williams and her sister, Imogene Barker.

Ann graduated from Union Grove High School and Gardner Webb. Early in life she worked for the Baptist Bookstore in Charlotte, NC until she, along with James, began to raise their family. She later retired after 25 years of service as the Activities Director at Jurney’s Rest Home in Olin, NC

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters and sons-in-law, Jamie White Mahler (Donnie) and Jill White Sturtevant (Eric); four grandchildren, Trey Mahler, Trevor Mahler (Chely), Morgan Sturtevant and Breanna Sturtevant and two great-grandchildren, Corbyn Mahler and Charli Bella Mahler.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 31, 2026, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Sweet Home Baptist Church 7173 Somers Road Union Grove, NC.

The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM at the church with burial to follow at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Ann’s memory to Gordon Hospice House, Sweet Home Baptist Church or to New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
