Deborah (Sloan) Wexler

Deborah Sloan Wexler, 69, of Statesville, passed away October 10, 2022, in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Mrs. Wexler was born December 20, 1952, in Iredell County, the daughter of Betty Sloan and the late Bill Sloan.  Debbie was a graduate of North Iredell High School, class of 1971, was employed by Dr. Vacca as an orthodontics assistant, and later worked with Manheim Auto in Statesville.  She was a member of Mountain View Methodist Church.  In 1993 Debbie married her beloved husband, Steve Wexler, who survives.

In addition to her father, Debbie was preceded in death by her brother, Lester “Butchie” Sloan, Jr.

Those left to cherish Debbie’s memory include her husband, Steve, her mother, Betty, her beloved son, Richie Alan Dishman, her sisters, Teresa (Rick) Brown and Tracie West, her nieces and nephews, Janda (Britt) Hefner, Douglas (Denise) Brown, Shanna (Roger) Kurley, Harrison West, Hannah West, and Claire West, her great nieces, Mallory Chapman and Larsyn Kurley, great nephew, Brycen Kurley, and her stepdaughter, Stephenie Wexler.

The family will gather with friends, Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Troutman Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 pm.  A funeral celebration for Debbie will be conducted Friday, October 14, 2022, at 2:00 pm, Mountain View United Methodist Church.
