Deborah Kay Scott

Deborah “Debbie” Kay Goodin Scott, age 70, of Statesville, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 31, 2026, at her home. Born on August 19, 1955, in Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late Junior Franklin and Katie Belle Powell Goodin. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Jeffrey Allen Goodin and one nephew, Jeffrey Albright Goodin. She was a graduate of North Iredell High School and worked as an associate at Love’s Truck Stop. Debbie loved animals, dog rescues, watching movies, and Ol’ Bob’s barbeque. She was a veteran of the US Army.

Debbie is survived by one brother, Jimmy (Melda) Goodin; one sister-in-law, Hoa “Holly” Goodin; one nephew, Jacob Goodin and six nieces, Katie Goodin, Jessica Goodin, Jamie Goodin, Rosie Goodin, Kaydee Goodin, and Rebecca Goodin. She is also survived by special friends, Natalie Carcamo and Megan Cedeño, and her fur baby, Aries.
