David “Wayne” Crawford, age 63, of Statesville, went to be with his Lord on Monday, August 31, 2026, at the Gordon Hospice House after an extended illness. Born on December 14, 1962, in Buncombe County, NC, he was the husband of Robin Blackwelder Crawford and the son of the late Frank Silver and the late Hilda Mae Hoglan. He was employed as a motorcycle mechanic. Wayne was a faithful member of Fallstown Baptist Church in Troutman where he led the Kingsmen of Fallstown. He loved working on motorcycles and especially telling people about Jesus. He previously sang with “From the Heart” and “Heaven’s Joy.” Wayne was also a proud member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club,

Wayne is survived by his wife of 27 years, Robin Crawford; a daughter, Shannon Maria Crawford; one grandson, Tyler James Willis (Amelia); one great grandson, Jasper and another one due in December. Also surviving are one sister, Tammy Elaine Crawford; one niece, Faith Elaine Parker; one nephew, Joshua Evan Parker (Amy); one great-nephew, Elijah Evan Parker; one great-niece, Scarlett Erlane Parker; aunt, Cheryl Dean McKinney (Jerry); cousin, Holli Dion Gillis; and special stepmother, Sarah Silver. Further surviving is his sister-in-law, Sharon Utsman (Percy); nieces, Courtney (Daniel) and Nicki (Rob); sister-in-law, Becky Benfield; nephews, Michael (Justine) and Matthew (Jessie), and many other great nieces and great nephews. His beloved church family at Fallstown also survives as well as his best friend, Jereme Bell; beloved friends, Bruce and Barry Jones; as well as Floyd “Cowboy” Owenby and Bonnie “Cowgirl” Coleman who tirelessly helped with Wayne.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by Billy Wayne Crawford who raised him; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Barbara Blackwelder.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to FYZICAL Therapy and Balance in Mooresville, West Iredell Dialysis and ICATS for everything they did for Wayne. Dr. Wolfgang Lohrman is to be thanked also for his timeless dedication to his patients.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 11:00 am at Fallstown Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Bowman and Dr. David Troutman officiating. Burial will follow in the Fallstown Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Wayne’s memory to Fallstown Baptist Church 242 State Park Rd Troutman, NC 28166.
