David Scott Chance

David Scott Chance, 63 of Statesville, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

David was born in Chicago, IL on October 17, 1959 to the late Walter and Shirley Chance. He graduated from Myers Park High School and attended UNC Charlotte. After owning his own construction company for many years, later in life he was the owner/operator of Chance Transport.

On February 11, 1993, David married the love of his life, Lynn, and they recently celebrated 30 years of marriage. David was happiest when spending time with his family, grilling and smoking meats, fishing, and watching his grandkids play sports. He was a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus and loved helping others.

Along with his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, John Chance.

Those left to cherish David's memory include his wife, Lynn, his children, Megan (Scott) Norris, Will (Brooke) Chance, and Emily Chance, his grandchildren, Skylar, Emma, Dilynn, Weston, Kinsleigh, and Raelynn, his siblings, Becky (Jeff) Hanson, Debbie Brown, Frank Chance, and Greg Chance whom David served as his legal guardian. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of David's life will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Fallstown Baptist Church. The family will be receiving friends at 2 pm and the service will begin at 3 pm.
