Danny Ray Eldridge

Danny Ray Eldridge, 64, of Statesville, departed this life Thursday, January 10, 2019 following a long illness.

Born March 16, 1954 at Oceana, WV, he was the son of the late Raymond Earl Eldridge and Eloise Maxine Paynter Eldridge. He was a graduate of Oceana High School and attended Southern West Virginia Community College. He was a coal miner in West Virginia and in the year 2000, he moved to Statesville and worked for General Dynamics in Conover, NC as a welder and fabricator.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Lynn Harper Eldridge; two daughters, Kelli Spencer (Jeremy) of Statesville, Hollie Bath (Scott) of Statesville; one sister, Patricia McKinney of Salem, VA; one brother, Joseph Eldridge (Debra) of Elliston, VA; two grandchildren, Ashton Cole Eldridge, Reighley Beckett Spencer and an expected granddaughter in May 2019, Raelyn Maxine Spencer. He is further survived by two special cousins, Audy “Red” Eldridge, Gary Eldridge, special friend, Brian Thacker and a host of relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Linzie “Butch” Eldridge and Steve Eldridge.

Danny was an avid coon hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his two grandsons. As a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle and friend, he will be greatly missed.
