Daniel Lee Scott, 65, of Mooresville, passed away, Monday, April 26, 2021 at the Gordon Hospice House following a courageous battle with cancer. He trusted that God was in control and prayed that everyone who knew him would find comfort in that truth. His desire was that God would use his testimony for the building of the Kingdom.
Born on March 14, 1956 in Statesville, NC, he was the son of the late William Frank Scott, Sr. and Mildred Weber Scott. He graduated from Statesville High School in 1974. A committed business man, Danny retired from International Contract Molding as Executive Vice President. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, Chapel Hill basketball, and all things to do with being on the water.
He is survived by one daughter, Adrianne Scott Blackwelder (Adam) of Statesville; son-in-law, Derek Davis (Heather) of Denver, NC; a sister, Susan Scott Miller of Statesville; six grandchildren, Noah Davis, Nora Davis, Reid Davis, Braelyn Blackwelder, Emmalyn Blackwelder, Grady Blackwelder; and four nieces, Amanda Scott, Meredith M. Gottschalk, Britainy M. Dearman and Andy Beth Miller.
While he seized every moment on this Earth, he was overjoyed to be joining his parents, daughter, Amber S. Davis, brother, William “Bill” Frank Scott, Jr., and brother-in-law, Gary Miller in Heaven.
While his passing leaves many hurting, we find comfort in knowing that he is whole again, and walking with his Savior, Jesus Christ. In his final days, God’s Word supplied comfort and hope for what awaited him. His life was an illustration of the Psalmist’s words, “my flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” [Psalm 73:26].
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Front Street Baptist Church. The family will gather at Oakwood Cemetery following the memorial service to greet friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Derek Davis, Noah Davis, Reid Davis, Grady Blackwelder, Burr Fraley, Lynn McConnell, Gary Davis, and Ben Plunkett.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Amber Davis Drive for a Cure, c/o Derek Davis, 4237 Ivey Hollow Court, Denver, NC 28037.
