Cynthia Harris Johnson

Cynthia Ellen Harris Johnson, 76, of Statesville, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

Cynthia was born on April 27, 1949, to the late Clyde Harris and Irene Garris Harris. She graduated from Elkin High School. She worked for Johnson Realty for many years as an office manager.

Cynthia was a person whose faith never wavered. She was generous, always thinking of others over herself, loyal, loving, hardworking and kind. Those who knew Cynthia will remember her warmth and quiet strength. She was the kind of person who gave without expecting anything in return.

She loved animals, especially cats, and loved to feed the geese and birds. Her kindness towards animals reflected her gentle spirit and her belief in the goodness of all creatures.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 48 years, Johnny Allen Johnson; daughter, Sonya Richardson of Huntersville; stepdaughters, Susan Hunter of Asheville, Robin Johnson of Wilmington, and Cindy Nistad of Charleston, SC; and brothers, Kenneth Harris of Statesville, Roger Harris of Jonesville, and Gary Harris of Greer, SC.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. John Parks officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made online to the Dementia Society of America.
