Connie Kitchens

July 5, 1950 - June 12, 2016 Mrs. Connie Kitchens, 65, of Statesville, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016. She was born on July 5, 1950 in Troutman to the late Robert and Lanna Sherrill. Connie was a graduate of Troutman High School. She was married to the love of her life, Jack, for 25 years and they were inseparable. Jack describes her as "the most beautiful, bravest, sweetest, kindest, loving woman ever. She never complained during her sickness, always laughed and was a big cut-up. She was an awesome lady who he was blessed to have in his life." Connie was an avid Panthers fan who enjoyed bowling, played golf, danced, and played the piano. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jack D. Kitchens; son, Darren Johnson; stepson, Joey (Becky) Kitchens; sister, Robin (Tommy) Willard; brothers, Tim and Ted (Deborah) Sherrill, all of Statesville. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Dr. Ahmed Elnaggar and Lisa Mathis for the care they provided to Connie for 12 years. They would also like thank all the wonderful people at Hospice of Iredell County for their loving care of Connie and their concern for Jack and the entire family.
