Colleen Mccann

October 18, 1940 - June 18, 2018 Nancy Colleen Mills McCann, 77, of Statesville, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Gordon Hospice House. Colleen was born on October 18, 1940 in Statesville, NC to the late James Brinkley Mills and Gracie Irene Bass Mills. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jimmy McCann, in September 2017, and her brother, Bobby Mills. Colleen was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Mooresville. She was very creative and enjoyed doing needlepoint, crocheting, and cross-stitching. She was also a talented pianist and a die-hard Tar Heels Fan. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Brinkley Daney "Mac" McCann and wife Cindy of Sykesville, MD; daughter, Lea Rene’ McCann Hughes and husband Chuck of Cleveland, NC; sister, Dorothy Tedder and husband Jasper of Statesville, NC; special niece, Kathleen McCann; three grandchildren, Justin McCann, Carrigan McCann, and Madalynn McCann, and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at Grassy Knob Baptist Church in Union Grove on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Craig Seaford and Rev. Fred Carlton officiating. The committal will immediately follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Colleen’s memory may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 230 Catalina Dr. Mooresville, NC 28117 and/or to Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Rd. Statesville, NC 28625. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Hospice volunteer Betty Cooper. Troutman Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Colleen McCann.
