Coley Gwyn Johnson

Mr. Coley Gwyn Johnson, 71, formerly of Statesville, passed away, Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Transitional Healthcare of Kannapolis in Kannapolis, NC.

Mr. Johnson was born September 17, 1948 in Wilkes County and was the son of the late Coley Roby Johnson and Esther Higgins Benfield. He attended Union Grove and Central schools. He served in the US Marine Corp. and previously worked at Hunt Manufacturing.

He is survived by five siblings, Ken Johnson (Patsy) of Union Grove, Dee Dee Moose of Statesville, Archie Johnson (Kelly) of Statesville, Hank Johnson of Statesville, Alex Johnson of Statesville and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Susie Lee, Robert Thomas Johnson and Baby Boy.

The family will visit with friends 4:00 pm Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Dee Dee Moose’s residence. A private family graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery.
