Clyde Wilson (Templeton) passed away on December 31, 2024, at Williams Place in Davidson, NC.

Clyde was born on November 1, 1938, to Clyde and Ruby Redmond Templeton. She grew up on a farm north of Statesville and attended Union Grove School and later Wake Forest College in Winston-Salem, NC. There she met her future husband, Jerry Wilson from Statesville. They married in 1962.

Her career varied working first as Activities Director at St. John’s Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC and then as Activities Director at Georgia Baptist School of Nursing in Atlanta and finally as Advisor at Jacksonville State University School of Nursing in Alabama. Clyde was a beloved mentor and friend to many students she worked with. While in Alabama, they welcomed a daughter, Crystal, into their lives. In retirement, they moved back to NC and built a house on Lake Norman.

Clyde is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jerry, daughter, Crystal and four sisters, Eula, Gwennie, Lois, and Lunelle. She is survived by two grandchildren, Haley and Bradley Buchanan, sister, Brenda, a niece and five nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the VIA Health Partners (Hospice), PO Box 470408, Charlotte, NC 28247. There will be a visitation one hour before the service. A Celebration of Life will be held at Troutman Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Charles (Joey) Tomlin officiating.
