Clyde David Shaw Jr

Clyde "Junior" David Shaw Jr., 72, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at his residence in Statesville. He was born in Davie County on Dec. 29, 1937, to the late Clyde D. Shaw Sr. and Mabel Candice Bullabough Shaw. He was raised in the home of his grandparents, with aunts to share his love and time. He worked for Hoechst Corp. as a panel operator for 32 years. Junior was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed gardening, golf, woodworking and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Shelby Overcash Shaw, of the home; one daughter, Tracie S. Sharpe and husband Curtis, of Hiddenite; two sisters, Jettie Mauldin of Granite Quarry, and Judy Hazelwood and husband David, of Brookville, Ind.; three grandchildren, Jeanna Bergandine, Alyssa Sharpe and Haylee Sharpe, all of Hiddenite; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Troutman Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Justice officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Iredell Memorial Park. Pallbearers for the service will be Jody Robinson, Will Harris, Chris Wise, Terry McDaniels, Ronnie Morgan and Gale Sharpe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hiddenite Baptist Church, P.O. Box 38, Hiddenite, N.C., 28636 or Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, N.C., 28625. The family would like to thank Dr. Ruby A. Grimm, her nurses and the nurses on the 4th floor of Iredell Memorial Hospital for all their kindness and loving care.
