Mr. Clarence Earl McCurry, 66, of Cleveland, went to be with His Lord and Saviour on Saturday, July 2, 2011.
He was born August 19, 1944, the son of Mary McCurry and the late Clyde McCurry of Burnsville. He was a man who faithfully loved God and his family and friends. He was a member of Ostwalt Baptist Church in Troutman and was retired from the construction industry. Clarence was loved and respected by many and will be truly missed by all. In addition to his mother, left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Kay; his daughters, Pamela McCurry of Cleveland, Tracey McCurry of Woodleaf, Jessica Cordes and husband, Doug, of Concord and Sandra Henderson and husband, Tim, of Rockwell; his grandchildren, Kayla Edwards, Jake and Jordan Martin, Emily and Zoie Cordes, and Savannah and Sawyer Henderson; his brothers, Robert, Paul and Maurice McCurry, all of Burnsville; his sisters, Geraldine Buchannan, Geneva Morrow, Sally Ogle, Linda Edwards and Sue Bennett, all of Burnsville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde McCurry and his son, Scottie Glen McCurry. The family will receive friends from 11-12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6th at Ostwalt Baptist Church in Troutman. Funeral services will immediately follow with the Rev. Wesley Morris officiating. The family will also receive friends from 11-12:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 7th at Yancey Funeral Service in Burnsville. Funeral services will immediately follow at the graveside in the McCurry Family Cemetery in Burnsville with the Rev. Lynn Shook officiating.
