Chris Williams

Dec 14, 1972 — Jul 9, 2026

Statesville

With great sadness and a heavy heart, we announce the sudden and unexpected loss of a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, Chris Williams, on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

A quiet bear full of love for his family and an overabundant helpful nature toward others, Chris was a person who stopped and changed tires or jump-started cars for many strangers throughout the years.

A blessing to life itself, Chris was my person, a dedicated husband, partner, best friend, builder, and provider. For 36 years he brought warmth to my heart and a smile to my face. He built me specialized raised garden beds, beautiful plant stands, and useful cabinets, putting his creativity and hard work into things I can cherish throughout the years.

Chris was a guide and a wonderful example to his sons, Luke and Silas, on what a man, father, partner and husband should be. He taught them how to respect and treat others. And he also taught them how to work hard and provide for their families. He was a knowledge seeker and a joke maker – keeping life interesting and bringing smiles to many faces along the way.

Chris was also a caring son to Teri and Dave Hodor, providing companionship and help of any kind they needed – from helping with upkeep of the house to visiting and bringing the occasional sweet treat to sweeten their days.

He was a graduate of West Rowan High School and a dedicated employee at Harris Teeter.

Chris is survived by his wife, Brenda Williams; his sons, Luke and Silas Williams (fiancé, Nyeisha Howell); his mother and father, Teri and David Hodor; sister, Sheila Freeman; nephews, Russell Freeman (wife, Carmen) and Blake Freeman.

Arrangements for Chris are in the care of Troutman Funeral Home.
