Charlotte Jean Crew Rankin

Charlotte Jean (Crew) Rankin, 75, departed the surly bonds of earth on June 6, 2026, in Statesville, NC. She was born in Elizabeth, WV on July 24, 1950, to the late Lillie Amtower Crew and Denver Earl Crew. Her greatest love was her family and friends. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling all over the country from West Virginia to California, Florida and the Carolinas. She thoroughly enjoyed music, dancing and being outdoors where she could pursue her interests in swimming, hiking, fishing, gardening and sitting around a fire making s'mores and telling stories. 

Charlotte was preceded in death by her brother, Ken Crew, and two sisters, Donna and Mitzie Crew. She is survived by her two daughters, Gypsy Morningstar and Jessica Rankin; grandchildren, Josh Satterfield (Mandy), Elijah Grimes and Jude Grimes; and great grandchildren, Ben, Angela, Nova and Halia. She is also survived by her nephew, Jeromy Darling, two brothers, Ed Crew and Randy Crew; one sister, Carol Crew; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you plant a flower or a tree in remembrance of Charlotte. Per her wishes, there will be no funeral.
