Charlie Mcdonald

Charles “Charlie” McDonald, Jr., 87, of Statesville, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Gordon Hospice House. Born on March 30, 1937, in High Point, NC, he was the son of the late Charles McDonald, Sr. and Rose King McDonald.

Charlie attended Guilford College and Mars Hill College in High Point, NC, and served in the US Air Force. He retired from Kewaunee Scientific Corporation in 1999, where he worked as a furniture finisher chemist.

Charlie married Audrey Jane Knight, who survives, in 1965. In addition to his wife of 69 years, he is survived by two children, George Edwin McDonald of Minnesota, and Heather McDonald of San Francisco; two grandchildren, Liam Joseph McDonald and Genieve “Evie” Rose Crovo, and his niece, Susie Smith.

Charlie's family will forever cherish the memories of summer road trips to the beach with early morning donuts, traveling, and Sunday afternoons spent watching the Dallas Cowboys or his favorite Westerns. He dearly loved his wife Audrey and family.
