Charles "Harold" Sprinkle

Charles “Harold” Sprinkle, 84, of Statesville, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Gordon Hospice House.

Harold was born on May 31, 1941, to the late Charles Edward Sprinkle and Myrtle Ethel Miller Sprinkle. He graduated from Hiddenite High School and married his first wife, Bertha Rash Sprinkle, who passed in 2008.

Harold was a member of South River Baptist Church. For many years, he worked for the Department of Transportation as an Inspector and he was a member of the Ruritan Club. He loved to travel, especially going on day trips. He enjoyed working in his yard and loved to fish. He dearly loved his family and his fur baby, Tucker.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 16 years, Carolyn P. Sprinkle; daughter, Lynne Sprinkle; stepdaughter, Susan (Mark) Comer; stepson, Marty (Robin) Waugh; stepfather, Johnny Leroy Ford; step grandchildren, Cameron (Ashleigh) Waugh, Emily (Zach) Hawkins, and Kendall Waugh; step greatgrandchildren, Mason Waugh and Ainsley Waugh; sister, Shirley Ann Sprinkle Millsaps; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 25, 2025, at South River Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Thompson officiating. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
