Carolyn Troutman Freeze

Carolyn Troutman Freeze, 77, of Statesville, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012 at Gordon Hospice House. She was born on December 25, 1934 in Iredell County to the late Baxter and Rachel Lippard Troutman. She enjoyed her grandsons, gardening and her ladies Sunday School class and was employed for a number of years at the Barium Springs Family and Child Development Center. She is survived by her sons, Gary Gilleland of Atlanta, GA and Jamie Freeze of Statesville; two daughters, Christy Johnson of Pisgah, AL and Wanda Gates of Chattanooga, TN; two brothers, Homer and Bud Troutman of Statesville; and five grandchildren, Wil Kelly, Clay Freeze, Garrett Freeze, Graham Freeze and Phillip Crowe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Freeze, and a sister, Betty Jean Houston. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, August 5, 2012, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Troutman Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, August 6, 2012 in the Troutman Historical Cemetery in Statesville with the Rev. Jamie Fox officiating. Pallbearers will be Rick Troutman, Chuck Houston, William Troutman, Chris Crouch, Daryl Crouch and Wil Kelly. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to Gordon Hospice House, c/o Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Rd, Statesville, NC 28625.
