Carl R. Fitzgerald

Carl Raymond Fitzgerald, 80, of Statesville, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

Carl was born January 8, 1945, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was the youngest son of Maurice Jackson Fitzgerald and Anna Fredrick Woodworth.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; daughters, Brenda Zody and Laura Benfield; granddaughter, Jamie Zody; sister, Joyce Collet; brother, Donald Fitzgerald.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Theresa; daughters, Annette Wilder of California and Jeannie Osborne of North Carolina, and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren and fur child, Rosie.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He treasured spending time with his loved ones. He is now in Heaven, fishing with his brother, Don. His love leaves a memory no one can steal.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
