Buddy Gray Scott

1941 - 2014 Buddy Gray Scott, 72, of Mooresville, passed away on Tuesday, January 28. Buddy was born in Surry County on August 30, 1941, to the late Fred and Bessie Scott Buddy is survived by his two sons, Ricky (Sheila) Scott of Mocksville, Mark (April) Scott of Mooresville; daughter Sheila (Eugene) Jackson of Waxhaw; three stepdaughters, Jesse Turner of Ladson, SC, Julia Bullock of Mooresville, Vanessa Williams of Albany, NY; and his brother Freddy Scott of Shoals, NC; six grandchildren, Taylor Scott, Caroline Scott, Chassidy Ford, Johnathan Ford, Daniel Jackson, and Joseph Jackson; and one great-grandchild, Madilyn Ford. Buddy was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Williams Scott. Buddy was a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and also enjoyed gardening, coin collecting, playing the guitar and country music. The family would like to thank the nurses on the fourth floor of Iredell Memorial for taking such good care of him in his last days. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Troutman Funeral Home, Troutman, on Monday, February 3 at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Trent Patterson.
