Robert William "Buck" Barnett, 81, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 10, 2012. Born in Iredell County on August 29, 1930, he was the son of the late Jesse Alexander Barnett and Chloe Karriker Barnett. Buck was a mechanic who repaired farm machinery his entire life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather ("pipaw Buck") and great grandfather and was a member of Beulah Heights Wesleyan Church in Troutman. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to bluegrass gospel music and working on his old tractors. In addition to his wife of 63 years, Kathryn Brown Barnett, he is survived by two daughters, Shirley Barnett Snow and husband, Joel, of Lexington, Va. and Brenda Barnett Cooper of Troutman; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Kathleen Stowe of Mooresville and Shannon Barnett of Texas; one brother, Jesse Barnett of Statesville; and his two faithful companions, Winnie and Starr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, two sisters and two brothers. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. at Troutman Funeral Home on Friday, May 18, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Beulah Heights Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Trent Patterson and the Rev. William Pharr officiating. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Troutman.Visits: 0
