Brenda Joyce (Johnson) Templeton

Brenda Joyce Johnson Templeton, 79, of Statesville passed away, Friday December 23, 2022 at the Gordon Hospice House.

Mrs. Templeton was born October 21, 1943 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Vaughn and Sarah Peacock Johnson. She was a graduate of Cool Spring High School and on December 14, 1963 she married Robert Buel Templeton, Jr. who survives. She was a former member of Faith Baptist Church in Statesville, she loved reading her Bible, Antiquing and she was the family genealogist.

In addition to her husband of 59 years, she is survived by one daughter, Vonda Joyce Templeton Marlow; one grandson, Chandler Vaughn Marlow, special niece, Stacy Johnson Miller and numerous other family members.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Lee Johnson and Michael Vaughn Johnson and one nephew, Eric Vaughn Johnson.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Troutman Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 1:00-2:00pm before the service and burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
