Brenda Sue Lackey Sherrill

Brenda Sue Lackey Sherrill, 79, of Hiddenite, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2026.

Brenda was born in Iredell County on May 4, 1947, to the late Allen Lackey and Mary Mason Lackey, who recently passed on October 20, 2026, at the age of 101.

She was a member of Pisgah Methodist Church and served as the pianist. She worked in the Alexander County and Caldwell County schools teaching computer science.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles Henry Sherrill, who passed on September 25, 2024, and a daughter, Kristen Lynette Sherrill, who passed on July 23, 2024.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Kimberly Sherrill Parker (Eddie Parker); grandchildren, Thomas Lee Sherrill and Annie Marie Parker (Garrison Duncan); brothers, Tony Lackey (Lisa) and Ronnie Lackey; nephews, Matthew Lackey and Shane Lackey; and great nieces, Addison Lackey and Skye Lackey.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at Pisgah Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne Smith and Rev. Matthew Harrold officiating. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
