Brenda St. John

May 28, 1954 - December 7, 2018 Brenda Kay Benfield St. John, 64, of Statesville, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Brenda was born on May 28, 1954 in Iredell County to the late Jacob Leonard Benfield and Florence Bentley Benfield. In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Jerry Allen St. John in June of 2017. She was also preceded by a sister, Barbara Hicks and two brothers, Billy Benfield and Hubert Benfield. Brenda was a faithful member of Charis Community Church. Her favorite time of the year was Summer. She loved to lay out in the sun at the pool or be with her flowers in the garden. She loved her pet Yorkie, Toby, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Brian (Penny) St. John and Eric (Sasha) St. John; sisters, Ann Dishmond and Jewel Earp; six grandchildren, Austin (Amber), Kirkland, Jeshua, Amber, Ashlie, and Audrianna St. John, and one great-grandchild, Aria. The family will receive friends at Charis Community Church on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 1:00 to 1:45. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Michael Benfield officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Beulah Church Cemetery.
