Brenda Hager Hockenberry

May 10, 1941 - October 31, 2013 Brenda H. Hockenberry, 72, of Troutman, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2013, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. She was born May 10, 1941, in Cornelius NC, to Greir and Martha Hazel Shumaker Hager. She loved kids and always had a smile on her face. She also loved talking about the Lord and if you talked with her very long, you would end up with one of her famous recipes. She is survived by her husband, Donald Hockenberry of Troutman; her mother, Martha Shumaker, of Davidson; her sons, Wes (Tammy) Guffy of Claremont, David (Lisa) Hockenberry of Stony Point, Kevin (Jane) Hockenberry of Catawba; brother Danny (Cindy) Hager of Davidson; grandchildren, Matthew Taylor, Wendy Livingston, Carla Taylor, Nathan (Virginia) Taylor, Drew Hockenberry, Dara St. John, and Cody Hockenberry; and two great-grandchildren, Ezekiel and Malachi Taylor. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 -7 pm, Monday, November 4, 2013, at Troutman Funeral Home, followed by a Home Going Celebration service at 7 pm.
