Brenda Coley

Brenda Coley, of Statesville NC peacefully went home to be with Jesus on March 6, 2025, at age 84.

Brenda was born on December 14, 1940, to the late Walter and Fannie Byrd of Statesville. Brenda dedicated her life to serving the Lord and others. One of Brenda’s greatest joys came from giving. Her banana bread and peanut brittle were well known among family and friends. As a mother of three girls, Brenda instilled her faith and values in her family. She led by example, was a pillar of faith and a prayer warrior. She dedicated many years serving in the music ministry and ladies ministry at Fifth Street Church of God and Landmark Church of God.

Brenda joins her parents and brother, Richard Byrd, in Heaven. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, James Coley, their three daughters Tina Stephens (Jeff) of Statesville, NC,  Donna Lambert (Dennis) of Charlottesville, VA,  and Kisha Guillen (Angel) of Anchorage, AK;  eight grandchildren, Travis Lambert (Brooke) of Crozet, VA, Andrew Stephens of Statesville, NC, Emileigh Conley (Seth) of Linville, VA, Christofer Keene (Cayla) of Anchorage, AK, Aaron Stephens (Caitlin) of Harmony, NC, Elizabeth Stephens of Statesville, NC, Rebekah Keene Hedgspeth (Chaz) of Anchorage, AK, Isabel Guillen of Anchorage, AK; Seven great- grandchildren Parker Lambert, Natalie Lambert, Knox Conley, Brixton Conley, Maddie Kay Stephens, Zayden Hedgspeth, and Grayson Keene; three brothers Dennis Byrd (Christine) of Statesville, NC, Ronnie Byrd of Statesville, NC and Tommy Byrd (Donna) of Statesville, NC and many other family members.

Funeral services will be held at Landmark Church of God, 2200 East Broad Street, Statesville on Monday, March 10th, with a viewing at 1:00pm and service at 2:00p, officiated by Bishop Phil Pearson.

The family would like to give special thanks to the personal home health care attendants and the staff at the Gordon Hospice House for all their love and care for Brenda.
