Bobby Nelson Rogers, 69, of Troutman died Tuesday, November 16 2010 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. Born in Surry County on October 7, 1941 to the late Dewey Nelson and Faye Boyles Rogers, he was a loving father, grandfather and brother. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church and a truck driver. He is survived by his son, John Rogers, of Troutman; his daughter, Tonda R. Myers (Tony) of China Grove; two sisters, Wanda R. McCoy (Bill) and Ann Case, both of Statesville; two brothers, Wayne Rogers of Troutman and Jerry Rogers of Statesville; and five grandchildren, Sean Rogers and Terin, Taya, Khalid, and Hayat Myers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Vince Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at First United Methodist Church in Troutman with the Rev. Mike Carr officiating. Interment will follow the service at Iredell Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 2 until 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary prior to the funeral service.
