Bill Ervin

March 30, 1925 - December 28, 2018 William "Bill" Ralph Ervin, 93, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully, Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mr. Ervin was born March 30, 1925 in in Iredell County and was the son of the late Thomas O. Ervin and Rommie Eagle Ervin. He was a graduate of Troutman High School and served in the US Navy for two years. He was the owner of Big Pit BBQ in Mooresville for 20 years, was a member of First United Methodist Church in Troutman and was married to Lucille Morrow Ervin, who survives. He enjoyed farming and fishing at the coast. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Rick Ervin and wife, Margo of Mooresville, one granddaughter, Sarah E. Harvey of Mooresville and one great granddaughter, Caitlyn Harvey of Mooresville. Mr. Ervin was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lee Ervin in 1989, three sisters and four brothers. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019 in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in the First United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Troutman Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Gordon Hospice House and First United Methodist Church of Troutman. Troutman Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. William "Bill" Ervin.
