Betty (Woodward) Sanders

Betty W. Sanders, 95, died peacefully on February 2, 2023, at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill, SC.

She is survived by a sister, Anne Woodward (Bob Lee), a son, Steve Sanders (Cynthia), daughters Sherry Adams (Johnny), Leigh Ann Nichols (Steve), and Patricia Thompson, eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Pless and Ruth Walton Woodward, and her husband of 67 years, Tom Sanders, as well as her grandchild, John Nichols, and greatgrandchild, Audrey Calzada.

Betty worked as a bookkeeper for many years, befriending lots of coworkers along the way.  Her hobbies were shopping, watching sports, drinking Cokes and enjoying her visitors.  She loved animals, television, the beach, Elvis, and her family.  Numbering more than thirty people, she often remarked of them that “Tom and I started all this.”

A graveside service for Betty and Tom will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, 114 N Oakwood Drive, Statesville, NC 28677 on March 11, 2023 at 10:30 am.
