Betty Ostwalt

July 13, 1932- November 9, 2016 Betty Mathis Ostwalt, 84, of Troutman, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Hospice of Iredell. She was born July 13, 1932 in Spartanburg, S.C. to the late Eddean Mathis and Vernie Trent Mathis. Mrs. Ostwalt is survived by her loving husband, Frank Ostwalt; son, Jerry Brown (Karen) of Oxford, NC; three sisters, Martha Harding, Anna Parris, and Linda (Earl) Wells; four grandchildren, Kimberly Bell, Trent Brown, Elizabeth Brown, and Olivia Brown; and five great-grandchildren, Allison Smith, Taylor Smith, Travis Bell, Kayleigh Bell, and Jack Dean Brown. She will be truly missed by all who knew her. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Iredell Memorial Gardens with Rev. Alan Schular and Rev. John D. Moxley officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Ostwalt’s memory may be made to Hospice of Iredell County at 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
