Betty Qualls Gantt, 89, of Statesville, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Gordon Hospice House.
Betty was born in Livingston, TN on May 6, 1936, to the late Bradley Qualls and Jessie Lee Qualls. On March 16, 1957, she married Joe Forrest Gantt and they made their home in Statesville. After nearly 60 years of marriage, her husband passed in 2016.
She was a member of Cool Spring United Methodist Church. She worked for many years as a manager at a local carpet distribution company.
She enjoyed quilting and was an active member of the Davie County Quilting Guild, but what brought her the most joy was her family who she dearly loved.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, James Gantt (Brenda); daughter, Gena McLeod; son, Stan Gantt; daughter, Jan Mayes (Steven); grandchildren, Jason Gantt, Bradley Gantt, Katie Gantt, Joseph Gantt, Robert Gantt, Taylor Gantt, and Georgeanna Cranford; and great-grandchildren, Logan, Owen, Nora, Hazel, Red, Charlotte, Violet, Scarlett, Karmen, and Wyatt.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Betty is also predeceased by her brothers, Doyle Qualls and Kenneth Qualls, and her son-in-law, Lewis McLeod.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Cool Spring Community Church with Rev. Dr. Darren Custer and Rev. Tom Jones officiating. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
