Bertie Waugh

May 5, 1919 - Oct. 9, 2014 Bertie Elizabeth Waugh, 95, of Statesville, passed away on October 9, 2014 at Maple Leaf Health Care. She was born on May 5, 1919 to the late Charles Allison Waugh and Minnie Lee Byers. She was employed by Beauty Maid Textile in the Bundle and Cut Trim Department for 18 years, where she made many lasting friendships. She is survived by her niece, Jane Waugh, of Troutman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Eula Mae Wilhelm, of Statesville. A graveside service will be held in the New Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, with the Rev. Bill Mason officiating. Memorials may be made to the Cemetery Fund at New Bethany Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
