Benito Scafidi died April 16th 2026 surrounded by his loved ones. Benito was born in Palermo Sicily and came to America in his 20’s.
He loved to cook for his family as well as playing cards and listening to Italian music. He also loved being out in the sun and gardening.
He is survived by his wife Lydia of 56 years, his 3 daughters Maria Vaughan (David), Linda Scafidi (Tony Oliphant), and Carmella Richard (Jason), his 5 grandchildren Christopher, Gianna, Noah, Isabella and Mia, as well as his sister Lucia Pellegrino. Samantha was a cherished granddaughter to Lydia and Benito.
Viewing will be held at Troutman Funeral Home on Monday April 20th 5-7 pm. Services will be held on Tuesday April 21st at 10 am with burial to follow at 11 am at Iredell Memorial Cemetery.
Arrangements for Mr. Scadifi are in the care of Troutman Funeral Home.
